Music and Multilingualism is an interdisciplinary music-language-education platform, which aims to explore the benefits of music education for multilingualism.
The founder Dr. Sezgin Inceel has years of experience witnessing the benefits of music’s impact on the process of learning a language that goes back to when he was learning English in school. Since then it became his passion to understand this phenomena. He initially earned a Master’s Degree studying primary students’ academic achievement and the correlation between native languages and music training. While studying for his PhD, his focus was on Turkish immigrant families in Germany in order to understand the relationship between bilingualism and music.
In addition to Sezgin Inceel’s academic experience, he has years of hands on experience with the musical education of children from the early years to school age. He has personally worked in the child care field from the nursery, kindergarten and with school aged children in a multilingual environment, all with wonderful results. Music is truly the universal language that all children speak! Sezgin Inceel would love to share his experience and knowledge via his new project Music and Multilingualism with parents, teachers and other carers of children interested in the field.
